MathSciBuddy was founded by Mr Gomane L, a Civil Engineer, University Lecturer, and SACE-registered Mathematics and Physical Sciences educator with five years of teaching experience. His passion for the subjects is natural — and his goal is simple: give every South African learner a friend who will shape them all the way through school.
That idea of a friend is where the name Buddy comes from. Kids love their buddy — and Mr Gomane has seen it first hand. He currently tutors Grade 9 learners in Mathematics for free every Tuesday, with a national rollout as the long-term aim.
With the number of learners choosing Mathematics declining across South Africa, Mr Gomane believes accessible, affordable support is not a nice-to-have — it is a national priority. MathSciBuddy is his answer to that.
